Audio Guestbook Hire, Delivered and Styled

Audio guest book hire lets your guests leave a voice message instead of writing in a book. The Wedding House supplies audio guest books across Worcestershire and the West Midlands from our base in Droitwich Spa. Choose a vintage phone in a decorative chest, or a full phone box styled to match your decor. Both are delivered, set up and collected by us.

What Is an Audio Guest Book?

An audio guest book is a working telephone handset that records short voice messages. Guests lift the receiver, hear a greeting from you, then speak after the tone. The phone stores every message on an internal card. Nothing is streamed, so it works in venues with no WiFi signal.

We supply two versions. The vintage chest sits on a table and suits rustic, boho and country house settings. The phone box is a standing unit that works as a decorative feature in its own right. In a barn like Curradine Barns, it gives guests somewhere to gather away from the dance floor.

What’s Included

  • All-day hire. The unit stays with you from set-up until the end of your reception.
  • Delivery and set-up. Free within 20 miles of Droitwich Spa.
  • Collection. We return the following day, or as agreed with your venue.
  • Your recordings. Sent to you by Dropbox or WeTransfer after the wedding.
  • No WiFi needed. The phone records to an internal card, so venue signal does not matter.
  • Floral styling options. The phone box can be dressed to match your chosen decor range.
  • Public liability insurance. In place for every booking.

Which Option Should You Choose?

Choose the vintage chest for a table-top guest book, and the phone box if you want a feature. The chest suits smaller rooms and tighter budgets at £195. The phone box works better in large barns and hotel function rooms at £450. It also gives guests a reason to stop and gather during the evening.

How Audio Guest Book Hire Works

  1. We deliver and set up. The phone is placed where you want it, with a sign explaining what to do.
  2. Guests lift the handset. They hear your greeting, then record after the tone.
  3. Messages save to the phone. Each one runs to a couple of minutes, with no WiFi needed.
  4. We collect. The unit is picked up the next day, or as agreed with your venue.
  5. You receive your recordings. Sent by Dropbox or WeTransfer.

Which Venues Suit an Audio Guest Book?

Barn Venues

Barns have hard surfaces and high ceilings, so the evening gets loud quickly. Put the phone somewhere off the main room and guests will actually be heard. At Curradine Barns and Redhouse Barn, a corner away from the band works well. The phone box also fills an awkward empty wall.

Hotels and Function Rooms

Hotel function rooms usually have a bar area that guests drift towards between courses. The vintage chest sits neatly on a side table there. Bank House Hotel and Brockencote Hall both have space near the bar for this.

Marquees and Tipis

Marquees rarely have reliable WiFi, which is why a recording phone suits them. Everything saves to the phone itself. Keep the unit off the grass and under cover. We will bring a table if your marquee has none.

Manor Houses and Country Estates

Manor houses often have a hallway or drawing room away from the main reception. That is where the phone box earns its place. At Gorcott Hall, guests pass it on the way through, which keeps messages coming all evening.

Venues & Areas We Cover

Curradine Barns The courtyard side rooms keep messages clear of the band.
Hanbury Barns The phone box suits the open barn wall without crowding the floor.
Redhouse Barn A quiet corner away from the bar works best here.
Bennetts Willow Barn Guests pass the entrance repeatedly, which keeps recordings coming.
Bank House Hotel The chest sits well on a side table near the bar.
Brockencote Hall The drawing room gives guests somewhere quiet to record.
Gorcott Hall The hallway between rooms is the natural spot.
St Andrews Hotel, Droitwich Ten minutes from our base, so set-up is straightforward.
Shustoke Barn The phone box holds its own against the barn’s scale.
Worcestershire County Cricket Club The river-side rooms stay quieter than the main floor.

We cover Droitwich Spa, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Malvern, Evesham, Pershore, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Hereford, Bewdley and Stourport-on-Severn. If your venue is not listed, get in touch. If it is within a reasonable distance of Droitwich Spa, we will almost always be able to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does audio guest book hire cost in Worcestershire?

The vintage chest is £195 and the phone box is £450, both for all-day hire. Prices include delivery, set-up and collection within 20 miles of Droitwich Spa. Postal audio guest book companies advertise from around £89. Those arrive in the post for you to set up and return yourself. Ours is delivered, positioned and styled by the same team dressing the rest of your room, then collected afterwards.

Is delivery, installation and collection included in the price?

Yes, within 20 miles of Droitwich Spa. We deliver the unit, position it where you want it and set up the signage. Collection is the following day, or whenever suits your venue. If your venue sits outside that radius, ask and we will quote for the journey.

Do you hire an audio guestbook telephone box?

Yes. The phone box is our £450 option and stands as a decorative feature in its own right. It works best in larger spaces such as barns, hotel function rooms and manor house hallways. It can be dressed with floral styling to match your chosen decor range. It also includes a personalised greeting recorded by you.

How far in advance should I book?

Book as soon as your date is confirmed, particularly for summer and September Saturdays. We hold one phone box, so that option goes to whoever confirms first on any given date. If your date is close, ask anyway. We occasionally have availability from changed bookings.

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes, public liability insurance is in place for every booking. Venues sometimes ask for a copy of the certificate before your wedding. Let us know and we will send it straight over to your coordinator.

Can I see the audio guest book in person before booking?

Yes. Both the vintage chest and the phone box are in our Droitwich Spa showroom, open by appointment. You can pick up the handset and hear how it sounds, which tells you more than any photograph. Most couples booking a phone box want to see the size of it first. Get in touch to arrange a time that suits you.

What areas do you cover?

We cover Worcestershire, the West Midlands and the Cotswolds from our base in Droitwich Spa. That includes Worcester, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Malvern, Evesham, Pershore, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Hereford, Bewdley and Stourport-on-Severn. Free delivery applies within 20 miles of Droitwich Spa.

What is an audio guest book?

It is a working telephone handset that records short voice messages from your guests. Guests lift the receiver, hear a greeting recorded by you, and speak after the tone. Instead of a book of signatures, you end up with your guests’ actual voices. People say things out loud that they would never write down, which is the point of it.

Do you need WiFi for an audio guest book?

No. The phone records onto an internal card, so it works with no WiFi and no mobile signal. This matters in barns with thick walls and in marquees, where venue WiFi is often unreliable or absent. Everything is stored on the unit itself until we collect it.

Can we record our own greeting message?

Yes. Couples can record a personalised greeting message that guests hear when they pick up the phone.

How long can guests leave a message?

Guests usually have up to a couple of minutes to leave their message, giving them plenty of time to share heartfelt or funny recordings.

What are your deposit and payment terms?

A 25% deposit secures your date. A further 50% is due six months before the wedding, with the final 25% due one month before. If you are booking within six months of your date, we will set out the schedule when we quote.

When do we receive the recordings?

We send your recordings by Dropbox or WeTransfer after the wedding. You receive the individual message files, so you can keep them, share them with family or pass them to your videographer.
