Wedding Decor Hire at Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham

Planning a Manor by the Lake wedding? The Wedding House has styled 13 weddings at this Victorian manor house in Cheltenham. Our most recent was on 3 October 2026.

The manor was built in the 1850s as Arle Court, and sits in seven acres of gardens around a private lake. It was named National Wedding Venue of the Year at The Wedding Industry Awards 2024.

We travel to Manor by the Lake from our showroom in Droitwich Spa. The three spaces we dress most are the Italian Pavilion, the Maximilian and the Ballroom. This page covers how we style each one, the venue’s rules, and what couples usually spend.

Outdoor Ceremonies at the Italian Pavilion

The Italian Pavilion stands in the gardens beside the manor, and is licensed for outdoor ceremonies. It is the outdoor spot we dress most often here.

Our best tip for Manor by the Lake is simple. Make the pavilion the feature. Draped fabric, satin bows and flowers on the pillars frame you both for the photos, so the aisle in front needs less. See our Aisle Decor for the pieces we use.

If it rains, the venue and the couple decide on the day. The ceremony then moves into the Maximilian, and our arch and aisle pieces move with it. Your ceremony decor is never wasted, whatever the weather does.

Indoor Ceremonies in the Maximilian

The Maximilian is a bright, panelled period room with large windows onto the gardens. It is licensed for ceremonies of up to 100 guests.

The panelling and light do a lot of the work. A broken floral arch at the window, floor arrangements along the aisle and ribbons on the chairs are usually enough. One recent Manor wedding here was dressed in deep burgundy and green. Bethany and George chose our Victoria Floral Range flower balls, with champagne chair drapes.

The venue does not allow naked flames. We use LED candles in glass hurricanes instead, which give the same soft glow. Silk petals can line the aisle indoors.

Wedding Table Decorations in the Ballroom

The Ballroom opens onto the lake and gardens, and is light and neutral in colour. It is used for larger wedding breakfasts, then for the evening party.

The venue provides Chiavari chairs, with trestle and round tables, so you can choose long or round layouts. Our Chair Decor dresses the Chiavari chairs. Table Centrepieces and Stands, Charger Plates and Mats, and Napkins and Rings finish each setting.

Nothing can be fixed to the walls, but drapes can be added in the Ballroom. Tall centrepieces on stands work well on round tables in a room this size.

LED Dance Floor Hire at Manor by the Lake

For the evening, couples here often book our white LED dance floor for the Ballroom. The 16ft by 16ft floor is the size that fits. It costs £425, delivered and installed. See LED Dance Floor Hire for the full details.

The Ballroom stage makes a natural backdrop too. Layered drapes behind a draped cake table turn it into a feature for the cutting of the cake.

Staircase and Entrance Styling

The manor’s carved staircase is one of its best features, and it appears in plenty of photos. A floral garland down the banister ties it into the rest of your colour scheme.

At the doorways, floral arrangements on white plinths welcome guests into the ceremony room. These pieces often move from the ceremony to the Ballroom later in the day, so they work twice.

The Manor by the Lake Package

What Wedding Decor Costs at Manor by the Lake

We do not offer a fixed Manor by the Lake package. Our couples here have chosen a real mix of styles, and most have spent between £1,500 and £3,000 on their decor.

Where you land depends on how many spaces you dress and the pieces you choose, so we quote each wedding individually. Download our brochure for a guide to our ranges and prices, or book a consultation to talk it through.

A 25% deposit secures your date. A further 50% is due six months before the wedding, and the final 25% one month before.

Supplier access usually starts on the morning of the wedding. If there is no event the day before, we ask the venue whether we can set up early. We unload near the main entrance, and we deliver, install and collect everything.
