Husband and wife Kate and Luke Wicks run The Wedding House together. Here’s our story, in Kate’s words.
How a Droitwich flower shop became The Wedding House
Hi, I’m Kate, and together with my husband Luke, I run The Wedding House. Behind our showroom, styling collections and wonderful team is a family business. It began with me and my mum.
Our story started in 2011 as a fresh flower shop in the heart of Droitwich. As we became involved in more weddings, we discovered how much we loved helping couples create something personal and beautiful. Gradually, that little flower shop grew into the wedding decoration hire business you see today.
Those floral roots still run through our collections, from Flower Wall Hire to Mesh Hoops.
Kate Wicks, Director
My background is in buying for high street retail brands. When I took redundancy, I had the opportunity to focus on growing our business. I brought my experience in choosing products, combining colours and understanding trends into the world of weddings.
You can see that eye for colour in pieces like our Chair Decor and Ceiling Decor.
My mum has since retired, but she will always be an important part of our story. Today, Luke and I are the directors. We work alongside a team who put so much care into every celebration.
Luke Wicks, Director
Luke comes from a military background and joined the business to support its practical side. He looks after the maintenance of our warehouse, vans and products. That helps keep everything ready for the next wedding or event in Worcestershire and beyond.
From LED Dance Floor Hire and Magic Mirror Photo Booth Hire to Illuminated Individual Letters and Post Box Hire, every piece needs to be ready to go.
There is a lot that happens behind the scenes. Luke’s work is a huge part of making it all come together.
A family who love weddings
We married in 2016 and share a huge love of weddings. We understand the excitement, the anticipation and just how much the details can mean.
Our two children have grown up surrounded by wedding conversations, flowers and styling ideas. We often joke that they already know everything there is to know about weddings!
We are personally involved in your day
Even as The Wedding House has grown, staying personally involved has remained incredibly important to me. I see and read every enquiry that comes into the business. I also review every order before it leaves for someone’s wedding day, wherever it is in Worcestershire or the West Midlands.
Alongside our team, I’m always here for our brides and couples. You might need help making a decision, want to talk through an idea or simply need a little reassurance. We know how much trust you place in us, and we care about getting those details right.

Taylor (Tay), Venue Stylist

Meet Tay, one of our talented venue stylists. She has been part of The Wedding House family for over four years.
Creative, adaptable and wonderfully straightforward, Tay loves the excitement of visiting new wedding venues. She enjoys bringing each couple’s vision to life, from Worcestershire barns to West Midlands hotels.
Her favourite part of a wedding day is styling the ceremony. She also loves seeing the bride arrive on the morning of her wedding. A ceremony set-up can include wedding aisle decor and LOVE Letter Hire.

Michelle, Sales Advisor
Just over 2 years at The Wedding House
Meet Michelle, one of our friendly sales advisors. She has been part of The Wedding House family for just over two years.
Approachable, passionate and sociable, Michelle loves her consultations with couples. She helps each couple create a vision for their wedding day, whether they’re marrying in Worcestershire or across the West Midlands.
Her favourite moment is the smile on a couple’s face at the end of the meeting. She knows they’re excited about working with us. You can book a free consultation at our Droitwich Spa showroom.

Creativity beyond weddings
Over the years, we have extended our event knowledge into corporate styling and Christmas installations. Through Light Up Christmas & Events, we help businesses across the West Midlands create welcoming, memorable spaces. Delivered by the same in-house design team as The Wedding House.
My love of weddings also led me to co-found The Joy Is Reel. It captures the atmosphere, little moments and behind-the-scenes memories of a wedding through content creation.
Alongside this, I work as a business and content consultant. I help companies plan their social media, develop content ideas and share the people and stories behind their brands. Having built and run my own businesses, I understand how much business owners juggle. I know how valuable practical, thoughtful support can be.
Through everything we do, The Wedding House remains close to our hearts. We began in a Droitwich flower shop, and today we run the business together. We are proud to help couples bring their ideas to life and play a small part in such an important day.
