What Is a Charger Plate?

A charger plate is a larger decorative plate that sits under each guest’s dinner plate. It frames the place setting and ties every table to your colour scheme.

Charger plates are for display. Food is not served directly on them, so your caterer places the plate or bowl on top. Placemats do the same job with a softer, natural finish.

All our charger plates are glass, with gold, silver, black or clear detailing on the rim. Our rustic placemats are woven from water hyacinth, rope and rattan.

Our Charger Plate and Placemat Styles

Our Most Popular Charger Plates

Gold Dandelion is our most booked style. Ribbed clear glass runs out to a wavy gold edge. Thin Gold Edge is clear glass with a fine gold rim. Black Rim is clear glass with a thin black edge, a favourite for black and white weddings.

Gold Charger Plates

Gold Beaded has a ring of gold beads around the rim. Gold Reef Rim has fine textured gold lines across the rim. Gold Sunflower has a deep, textured gold rim with a scalloped edge like sunflower petals.

Silver and Clear Glass Charger Plates

Silver Beaded is our silver charger plate, with silver beads around a clear rim. Clear Beaded is all-clear glass with a beaded rim, so it works with any colour. Vintage Clear is pressed glass with an intricate lace pattern, sometimes called our clear lace charger.

Rustic Placemats

Our three rustic placemats are Water Hyacinth, Rope Woven and Rattan. They suit barn weddings, wildflower schemes and long wooden tables.

How It Works

  1. Choose your style. Pick a charger plate or placemat, or see them at our Droitwich Spa showroom by appointment.
  2. Tell us your numbers. Let us know your guest count, your venue and your date.
  3. We deliver. We lay them at each place setting with your full set-up, or leave them for your venue to lay.
  4. Enjoy your day. Your caterer serves each course on a plate placed on top.
  5. We collect. We pick everything up the day after and wash it back at our base.
