Warwick Castle is one of the UK’s most theatrical fairytale wedding venues: a fully intact medieval fortress beside the River Avon, wrapped in roughly 60–64 acres of Capability Brown–style landscaped grounds. The vibe is grand, historic, and a little bit cinematic—think stone towers, candlelit corridors, and sweeping lawns for photos.
Ceremony & reception spaces
You can build the day around a few signature rooms, all licensed for civil ceremonies:
-
The Great Hall – the showstopper. A vast medieval banqueting hall with high vaulted ceilings, suits of armour, and dramatic ambience. It typically holds up to ~120 guests seated for ceremony or wedding breakfast, and around 180 standing for evening partying.
-
State Rooms / State Dining Room – more intimate and opulent, with chandeliers, portraits, and a “royal residence” feel. The State Dining Room is often quoted around 95 for ceremony and ~40 seated for dining; other State Rooms can be used for drinks receptions or smaller celebrations.
-
Green Drawing Room and other adjacent rooms – used for smaller ceremonies, drinks, or as flow spaces when you want a multi-room experience.
Outdoors, couples often use the East Front lawn, central courtyard, and riverside/grounds for portraits and post-ceremony mingling—there are loads of angles that give you classic castle-plus-gardens shots.
